Please designate a team leader to fill out the form. Alternatively, club leaders may put "Player 1" etc if they know for sure they are sending a team but do not know who yet. Priority will go to the first 7 other non-PML teams from unique geographic regions. If there are fewer than 7 other teams from unique geographic regions, then more teams from each geographic region will be allowed. Teams may be made from any club or no club; no club affiliation is required to enter. If there are fewer than 7 other teams, PML will fill the remaining teams. (PML will be the 8th team - we will do qualifiers at some point. stay tuned on this).

$320 Per Team ($80 per person including tax)

After filling out the form, you will receive a link to pay. Your entry will be held for two weeks. Afterwards, if there are other teams waiting, they will get the chance to confirm. Once payment happens, your team will be officially registered. Tickets are non-refundable. You may adjust your roster up to two weeks before the event starts. You may use a last-minute substitute only with tournament director approval (usually things like travel problems or illness are fine, etc. Please give us a heads up). If your entire team needs to withdraw, please notify the tournament director asap.

Format

  • Saki-Style Rules (no uma, 4 red 5s, but no busting - see below for specifics)
  • Day 1: 5 hanchan scramble. Each hanchan will have 75 minutes to complete. A hand is started as soon as ron/tsumo/tenpai/noten/chombo is called from the previous hand. When time is up, finish the current hand. Each table should keep track of their own time.
  • After day 1: total scores of each team will be added up. The top 4 teams will play a finals for 1st-4th place, and the bottom 4 teams will play a finals for 5th-8th place. Team leaders will secretly message the tournament director their player order.
  • Day 2: For the sake of time, players will play the first 3 rounds simultaneously starting at 10 am. Each player plays 2 hanchan with the specified players from each team captain. These hanchan are untimed. The tournament director reserves the right to end a table if that table has exceeded 2 hours.
  • Afterwards, scores are tabulated and there will be some time for a team strategy meeting. Then, the 4th player of each team will play their 2 untimed hanchan. The tournament director reserves the right to end a table if that table has exceeded 2 hours.
  • While there is no uma, all the tables still are set to start at 25000. Players add and subtract points to their team's score with the difference from 25000. If a team goes below 0 points, they still continue to play as normal (a small change from Saki).
